Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

Tabib Talk teaches medical Arabic and history taking to medical students. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, who can see it, and how to get rid of it. It describes what the software actually does — not what we might do one day.

The short version. We collect the details you type when you sign up, and what you do in the course, so your progress follows you between devices. We do not use any analytics or tracking, we do not run advertising networks, we never see your card or bank details, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone for their own purposes.

1. Who we are

Tabib Talk is operated from India by the person who runs tabibtalk.com. For anything in this policy, including requests to see or delete your data, contact thetabibtalk@gmail.com.

2. What we collect

Details you give us when you create an account

All of these are asked for on the signup form, and all are required to create an account:

WhatWhy we ask
Email addressIt is how you sign in, and how we can reach you about your account
Full nameShown on your account page; your first name only appears to other students
Phone numberSo we can reach you about a payment or an account problem
College / universityPlaces you on the university leaderboard
NationalityHelps us understand which dialects and content to build next
Year or gradeSame — it tells us who the course is being used by

You can change any of these at any time from My Account, on the website or in the app. Your email address is the one exception, because it is what you sign in with.

What you do in the course

So that your progress is the same on every device you use, we store: lesson sections you have passed, test and quiz scores, days you studied and time spent, your streak, bookmarks, saved questions, and where you left off. We also store a nickname and emoji if you choose them for the leaderboard.

Sign-in and device information

Signing in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. It holds your email address and, if you use email sign-in, a securely scrambled version of your password. We never see or store your actual password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email address from Google and nothing else.

Accounts are limited to a small number of devices, because a single subscription is for one person. To enforce that we store a random identifier generated by your browser, the browser and operating system name your browser reports, and when it was first and last used. This is not a tracking profile and is not used for anything else.

Payments

Payments are made by bank or wallet transfer — InstaPay, UPI or PayPal — directly to us, and checked by hand. You send us the transaction reference number from your own payment app, and we store that along with which plan and amount it was for.

We never receive, see or store your card number, bank login, CVV or any other payment credential. Those stay entirely with your own bank or payment provider. There is no automatic renewal and nothing is ever charged without you choosing to pay.

3. What other students can see

Most of what we hold is private to you. These are the only things visible to others, so there are no surprises:

  • The weekly leaderboard shows your nickname (or first name) and emoji, your score, and your college.
  • The university leaderboard ranks colleges using the college name you entered.
  • The Feed shows your first name next to any phrase you choose to share. Nothing is posted unless you share it.
  • Your profile card shows your first name, your college, and how many likes your posts have received.
  • Friends and shared streaks show your first name and college to people you connect with.

Your email address, phone number, nationality, year of study, scores, bookmarks and payment history are never shown to other students.

4. What we do not do

  • We do not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or tracking tool.
  • We do not use advertising networks, and we do not run third-party ads.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your information to anybody.
  • We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.
  • We do not track you across other websites or apps.
  • We do not collect your location. The app does not ask for location permission.
  • We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone, photos or files.

5. Who else handles your data

We use a small number of services to run Tabib Talk. They process data on our behalf only:

ServiceWhat it does
Google FirebaseSign-in, and the database holding your account and progress
VercelHosts and serves the website
Google FontsSupplies the typefaces the pages use
Cloudflare CDNSupplies one small library used to create shareable phrase images

Data is stored on Google and Vercel infrastructure, which may be located outside your country. Both operate under standard international data-protection safeguards.

The audio you hear when a phrase is read aloud is generated by your own device using the voice built into your phone or computer. The text is never sent to us or to anyone else to produce that sound.

6. Children

Tabib Talk is intended for medical students and qualified professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

7. How long we keep things

We keep your account and progress for as long as your account exists, so that returning after a break does not cost you your work. Payment records are kept for accounting purposes. Shared Feed posts expire automatically after seven days, though a phrase you bookmarked stays in your own bookmarks permanently.

When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account record, your progress, your bookmarks, your posts and your friend connections.

8. Your rights

You can, at any time:

  • See and correct your details — from My Account, on the website or in the app.
  • Reset your progress — from the Invite page, which clears one dialect's progress without touching your account or your plan.
  • Ask for a copy of your data — email us and we will send you what we hold.
  • Ask us to delete your account — email us and we will remove it.

Write to thetabibtalk@gmail.com for either of the last two. We aim to respond within 30 days.

9. Keeping your data safe

The site is served entirely over an encrypted connection. Passwords are handled by Firebase Authentication and are never visible to us. The database cannot be read or written by any browser directly — every request goes through our server, which is also why your streak and scores cannot be edited from a phone. Administrative access is restricted.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date at the top and let you know in the app. Continuing to use Tabib Talk after that means you accept the updated policy.
